Service Locations
Myanmar, the largest country in mainland Southeast Asia, is a land of vast landscapes and natural beauty. Bordering China to the north, its unique geography and rich history have given rise to over 600 Chinese-language schools. Often community-driven and focused on heritage preservation, these schools play a vital role in sustaining Chinese cultural traditions despite limited resources. Although they lack official funding and face significant educational disparities between urban and rural areas, their unwavering commitment to cultural preservation is both admirable and inspiring.
In response to Myanmar’s current challenges, we have expanded the scope of our volunteer services to include Northern Thailand, specifically the Thai-Myanmar border region. While on-site service in Myanmar is temporarily on hold, our core operations in Northern Myanmar remain active. These include supporting rural education, assisting underprivileged students in accessing education, delivering books to remote schools, and improving school infrastructure. Through these multifaceted efforts, we aim to collaborate with local schools to amplify the transformative power of education.

Our Story
A simple backpacking trip opened our eyes to the needs of Chinese-language education in Myanmar. Inspired to make a difference, we founded Mandarin-Education Volunteer Organization in Myanmar (M.E.V.O.M.) in 2017. With the combined expertise of educators Yu-Shan and Yuan-Sin and the local support of AR TEE, we have distributed resources across Northern Myanmar, reaching more than 25 villages and nearly 60 Chinese-language schools.
As our efforts expanded, the Myanmar Chinese Education Service Team carried the same mission-driven spirit to Northern Thailand, another area in need. Here, we continue to spread the power of education, igniting hope for countless children.
Organizational Development Goals

- Promote vocational education programs in partnership with reputable local businesses in Myanmar, helping local youth build skills and fostering a mindset of empowerment and community contribution. By connecting resources between Taiwan and Myanmar, we aim to drive holistic development in local communities.

- Use educational initiatives to advance community development, with the ultimate goal of creating social enterprises as models for sustainable self-reliance. Establish a legally recognized foundation in Myanmar to unite efforts and realize the shared vision of educational excellence.
